What floure is

floure is a free, open-source speech-to-text application for Linux. All processing happens locally on your machine. No audio data, transcripts, or any other information is ever sent to external servers.

Information We Collect

We collect nothing.

floure does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no analytics, no telemetry, and no usage tracking built into the application or this website.

What this means

  • No audio data — Your voice recordings are processed entirely on your device and discarded from memory after transcription.
  • No transcripts — Transcribed text is stored locally if you choose to save it. We never see it.
  • No usage data — We don't know how often you use floure, what features you use, or even that you exist as a user.
  • No cookies — This website sets no cookies and uses no tracking scripts.
  • No accounts — floure requires no account, registration, or login of any kind.

How Your Data Is Processed

All speech-to-text processing uses Whisper.cpp running locally on your hardware. When you speak:

  1. Audio is captured by your microphone
  2. Processed in RAM by the local Whisper model
  3. Converted to text
  4. The raw audio is discarded
  5. The transcript is shown to you

No data ever leaves your machine during this process.

Third-Party Services

floure does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The application is fully self-contained.

This website is hosted without analytics scripts. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar service.

floure is fully open source. You can review, audit, and verify every line of code:

Your Rights

Since floure collects no data, there is nothing to access, correct, delete, or export. You are in full control of:

  • Your audio recordings (which are never stored beyond the transcription moment)
  • Your transcripts (which exist only where you save them)
  • Your usage (which is never recorded)

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Since we collect no data, changes typically reflect clarifications rather than substantive privacy impacts.
